Gateway family,

Last Sunday we had a called business meeting to vote on two proposals from our elder team: (1) To create a new staff position of pastoral assistant, and (2) To call Preston Adams to serve in this role.  I am excited to let you know that both votes received unanimous approval from the congregation! 

Preston faithfully has served on the staff this past year as our first pastoral intern while he completed his studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He recently graduated from there with a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Christian Ministry.   During his year on staff, Preston, and his wife Michelle, have been involved in the life of the church in many ways, particularly in investing in the many college students at Gateway.

We are so thankful that God has called Preston to serve in this new role.  He will focus on assisting the pastoral team, particularly in the area of college-student and young-adult discipleship.  In addition, he will begin overseeing our church communications, as well as continue to teach in a variety of settings.
